Dover, DE – Post St Patrick’s Day celebrations for Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 3-year old trotters kicked off in leg one on Monday (March 18) at Dover Downs. Early non-wagering divisions for the 3-year-old  geldings started off the card with two divisions followed by the fillies in the first half of the Daily Double. All were for $20,000 purses.

Go Jetem (He’s Spooky-Special Mist) answered the call in a new lifetime record of 2:01 for driver, Art Stafford Jr. and trainer Jim Thompson’s Mist Stable Inc. which includes his parents, Carl & Barbara. Place was garnered by Day Drinking (Musclelaneous-Nitroglide Hanover) followed by Dr Grinch (Giant Hit-Runaway Madonna) and driver Jeff Fout.

The second non-wagering event saw last year’s 2-year-old winner, Embrace the Grind (Keystone Activator-My Embrace) return to winning ways in a lifetime record of 1:58.3. He was driven by Jonathan Roberts for trainer and owner, Bobby Glassmeyer. Rich N Royal (Yankee Royalty-Adore Eleanor) followed in second with Just As Striking (Anders Bluestone-Ringside Katie) getting up for the show.

In the first half of the Daily Double, Disco Soliel (CR Commando-CR Penny Lane) started off 2019 where she ended in 2018, in the Dover Downs’ winners circle for owner and driver, Rod Allen and local trainer, Carlo Poliseno. The win was a new lifetime record of 2:00. Serendipity Stable (Marv Bachrad) bred Star Time (Anders Bluestone-Political Starlet) finished second with Cierra’s Choice (Anders Bluestone-Jersey Gal) following in third.
